Contraindications to blepharoplasty

– Blepharoplasty is also not recommended for people who have wound healing problems , as it may cause delays in the process or even cause the wounds to reopen.
– Any facial procedure should never be performed on patients with an active infection . A new appointment with Dr. Nieto should be scheduled once the infection has cleared.
– Blepharoplasty is also not recommended for patients with blood clotting problems or a weakened immune system.
– There is also an important psychological component. Blepharoplasty should not be performed on patients who have excessively high expectations for the results.
Before undergoing eye surgery, candidates should discuss their expectations and expected results with Dr. Nieto. This is a variable factor that depends on the individual case and situation. Blepharoplasty will not be performed on patients with severe psychological problems.
