Blepharoplasty is not possible without surgery

Blepharoplasty is not possible without surgery

Droopy eyelids, bags under the eyes, or dark circles are aesthetic problems that a large portion of the population suffers at some point in their lives. They can be more or less visible or serious, and sometimes they can arise at a very early age, either due to genetic causes or trauma. Therefore, there are a multitude of cosmetics that promise to correct or reduce their effects without surgery. Although they promise incredible results, the reality is different. Only surgery can permanently correct some of these problems.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure by definition. There is no such thing as ” blepharoplasty without surgery.” There are many references to the term “blepharoplasty ,” but some are the result of marketing strategies seeking to make a treatment more attractive or minimize the importance of the procedure. It is true that blepharoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure, with a relatively quick recovery, but the patient must be aware of its importance and not consider it trivial. After all, it is a cosmetic surgery procedure and requires planning and recovery, just like any surgical procedure.

The term blepharoplasty is sometimes used to refer to a skin peeling of the lower eyelids performed with an acid or laser. This is a technique also performed by Dr. José Nieto and is aimed at improving the texture and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid. It has also been called chemical blepharoplasty and can be performed alone or in combination with a surgical blepharoplasty.
